Great Hearts has positions available for those interested in being considered for mid-year Co-curricular positions (Atheneum, Athletics, Substitute Teachers). All submitted documents (resume, etc.) and questionnaire answers will be recorded and ready for review whenever any headmaster begins their hiring process for mid-year roles. 

Responsibilities

Great Hearts students develop foundational abilities of communication, creativity, critical thought, and character, and we seek to further cultivate these qualities beyond the classroom. Students have the opportunity to enjoy a robust offering of co-curricular programs that will enhance their academic study. These programs include Atheneum (after school education), Athletics, and Substitute Teaching. 

Regions:

  • Phoenix, AZ 
  • San Antonio, TX 
  • Dallas/Fort Worth, TX 

 

Athenaeum: After-School Athenaeum Teachers/Assistants report to the Campus Coordinator and are responsible for tutoring the children in the program (grades K-5) and for leading them in a variety of extra-curricular activities (reading, athletics, logic games, art, music, etc.). 

Athletics: All Great Hearts Academies offer a robust program of athletics as a part of their commitment to the idea that participation in athletics is co-curricular and all Great Hearts students would benefit from the development of habits and virtue that comes as students are guided toward competitive greatness. 

Substitute Teaching: Great Hearts Academies employs substitutes from which to draw for short/long-term substitution needs which may arise (e.g. for maternity leave, etc.) at schools within the network.

  • Academy Athletic Coaches 
  • Assistant Campus Coordinator for Co-Curricular Programs 
  • Front Desk Attendant – Co-Curricular Programs 
  • Middle School League Commissioner 
  • Part-time Academy Atheneum Teachers/Assistants 
  • Regional Manager Co-Curricular Programs 
  • Special Education Substitute Assistant Teacher 
  • Substitute Teacher (at brick/mortar academies) 

Job Requirements

  • Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the US 
  • Some college (preferably with education or liberal arts major), experience with children, excellent communication skills, and ability to lead and teach children. 
  • Bachelor’s degree required for Campus Coordinator and Regional Campus Coordinator positions. 
  • All positions required to have a valid, current fingerprint clearance card
