Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competency with specific clinical skills and techniques that are listed in the department/unit skills list.
- Performs tasks for patients’ Activities of Daily Living (ADL) to promote patient comfort and safety.
- Assists the RN with collection of patient data such as but not limited to the following examples: Vital Signs, Patient weights, Intake & Output, Blood glucose/ urine multi-stix and Pulse Oximetry.
- Promptly and courteously responds to any patient call light.
- Consistently conducts regular rounds and observes patient activity.
- Performs routine patient treatment/procedures.
- Documents patient care tasks performed and communicates effectively to RN on delegated tasks, such as but not limited to: patient data collection, treatments and procedures, and ADL’s.
- Promptly and clearly observes and communicates to the RN changes in the patient’s condition.
- Patient rooms and department work areas are organized and maintained in a neat, clean and well-supplied manner.
- Assists the patients by orienting them to the hospital routine in a sincere and helpful manner.
- Recognizes the occurrence of life-threatening situations and emergencies and takes the appropriate actions in a timely manner. #cb
Job Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
- High School or Equivalent (GED)
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Entry Level
